Promoting the merits of electric power
Andy Evans, a born and bred Shrewsbury boy, has just moved into a new role as Local Fleet & Innovation Specialist for Greenhous Nissan. He started working for the Greenhous Group in August 2007 as a Sales Executive at Greenhous Re-marketing Services (GRS), before moving in March 2014 to join the sales team at Greenhous Fleet Shop in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. Andy, was educated in the town at Prestfelde and Shrewsbury School.

He is a very proficient sportsman; he captained his school football side, and also became a county cricketer. After A levels he took up a gap year placement at a school in Sydney, Australia. On returning from his gap year he attended Manchester University to read Sport and Business Management.

Andy is delighted with his new role saying: “The purpose of the innovation role is to promote the Nissan Electric Vehicle range and the advantages of owning an electric vehicle. I’m also trying to increase awareness of the environmental and cost saving benefits of running an electric vehicle. My aim is to get as many people as possible to try an extended test drive in the Nissan Leaf and eNV200 and let them see for themselves how truly fantastic these vehicles are.”

Andy is assembling a database of local businesses who operate commercial vehicles. He wishes to build relationships with the business community, visiting companies to promote the Nissan range and offer them the opportunity to try them, especially the electric vehicles. The benefits to local companies of a more environmentally friendly vehicle can be explained more fully from a personal visit. Some local companies, and their employees, are already benefiting from using the Nissan Leaf & Nissan eNV200. Greenhous Nissan also have an extensive range of non-electric car and commercial vehicles to suit the needs of the company. For Andy networking is a key factor in promoting the value of switching to electric vehicles.
